Why We Love It: Bradenton Beach’s Bridge Street plays host every Sunday to the Bridge Street Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. November to April. The revitalized area is the center of the beach community and is known as the Historic Old Town District. There are Gulf views from the pier, and the outdoor market offers local artwork, crafts, produce, unique gifts and live music. Park the car, put on a pair of flip flops and walk the strip with a canvas tote in hand. Prepare to peruse the inventory of homemade meals, vegetables from community farms, and some of the most nautical, coastal keepsakes this side of southwest Florida. Bridge Street has the ambiance of an idyllic beachside town, with a foot-traffic-friendly identity that keeps the traffic at bay and the congestion to a bare minimum. Shopping at the market is the ideal prelude to an afternoon at the beach; and it only takes a few steps from the vendor booths to get there.
